Established in 1978 as a family business, Staffords has built up an excellent reputation for producing some of the freshest, tastiest and affordable foods available in Ireland today.
We pride ourselves on sourcing fresh and local produce from the lush green fields that surround our home in Drogheda, and turning these ingredients into tasty meals and treats in our state-of-the-art kitchens and bakery.
Whether you’re hosting a special party, catering for a large corporate event, need a special bespoke cake or simply want to treat the family, Staffords has the right product for you.
Staffords was established when our founder, Jim Stafford, saw a gap in the market for a local traditional grocer that could compete on price and rival in freshness with the large supermarkets that had begun to pop up in Drogheda in the late 1970s.
Jim’s first shop opened on Laurence Street and sold fresh, locally sourced meat, game and vegetables from the local farms of Julianstown and tasty baked treats from the family kitchen, all produced under his motto “quality produce at realistic prices”. Today, we remain true to Jim’s legacy, with a real focus on fresh, local and affordable.
